Supporting a UPS solution was a complex process; after it was implemented, it would beep or set off an alarm when it needed attention. As usual, the battery was low, or the phone guy unplugged the cable to the switch because it was unnecessary.
The usual process was to phone the support team while this beast was in an alarm state.
The Map was born out of the hate for the random alarm and the long wait for the UPS support to call back and say you have unplugged it again.
The Map as a support document comes into its own as you need to look at a single page and find the solution.
